Season's greetings to everyone
As has been the case over the past couple of years, I'm not sending Christmas cards in 2009, although there's some difference in that it's actually a conscious decision this time rather than simply me being rubbish. <:) Because it's a conscious decision, I am donating the money I would otherwise have spent on cards for friends, family and colleagues (and postage, where appropriate) to Oxfam, one of the charities I support regularly -- specifically, to relieve the East African food crisis. Hopefully, I can help a few people have a slightly better Christmas through my support, and still share festive cheer with those I'm close to through electronic means. That being the case, I wish everyone the very best of Christmas breaks, and a happy new year too, if I'm not in touch before. I trust the season of good cheer brings plenty of it to you all, and here's to a 2010 that was better than 2009 all round. :) Current Mood: festive |

oh god
The week between Christmas and New Year's is traditionally the lowest-traffic week of the year for my site, and I'm gonna be out of town anyway, so I thought I might try something a little different this year. Here's a teaser for my idea: I've already got the basic idea for the story and will hopefully start working on it before we drive down to Maryland (one advantage of driving down is I can actually bring my big Cintiq with me) for the holiday. Of course, going over my outline and idea list, this might end up being MORE work than the usual QC strips >.< So uh I no promises yet I guess, but hopefully I won't puss out and will actually get this done. |

I leave for NJ today. I always have such a mix of excitement and sadness when I go. It sucks never getting to spend a Christmas with your significant other. Even though Ian and I have been dating for almost five months, we're still in sort of the three-month honeymoon stage of the relationship where being away from each other for a week seems earth-shattering. I think this bodes well for us in long run, even though i'm going to miss him like crazy this week. That being said, our relationship continues to be the best relationship of my life, and I continuously feel incredibly lucky to have found him and that we both love and appreciate each other so much. I reread my New Years resolution entry from last year, and i'm impressed with how much i've actually accomplished (or will soon be accomplishing) on that list! I lost the weight i had set out to lose, all in all about 25-30lbs! I feel much more confident in my appearance, and I feel good about my health for the first time in my life! I now consistently weigh between 150-155lbs (not bad considering all the holiday junk food i've been consuming), and I even bought some cute short little holiday dresses to strut out this year. I got scuba certified! That was an amazing experience, and I can't wait to do it again. I signed up for my glass blowing class! It starts January 3rd, and as long as one more person registers for it, it's still on. It costs a pretty penny, so i was a little late in getting around to do this one, but thanks to my amazing Mom, my Christmas present this year was that. I've been wanting to do this for so long! Finally, the one resolution that i'm sure i fell short on was a) selling any of my work and b) gaining confidence with it. I haven't done a at all, so there goes that. B i've worked on, but honestly, i'm still my own harshest critique. I did sign up for a Pottery Co op membership though, and have noticed that i've improved. I'm excited to practice a whole lot this year and get back into throwing shape. That being said, does anyone want any pottery? I'll only charge you the shipping cost of it (if you live far away). I work better when someone tells me what they want, and i don't mind working to preset specifications (as long as people understand that glaze can be erratic through no fault of my own). And honestly, i don't need any more production pottery in my house. I'll post some pictures soon of the stuff i worked on for the holiday, but honestly, i can make more or less anything anyone would ask me for (pictures would be helpful), with the exception maybe of pieces over two feet in height. But vases, crock pots, and sets of bowls, mugs, plats, etc., I'm your girl! Any takers? |

Catena site
I'll be messing with the site over the next few weeks, so it if appears to go down or gives you some error, please ignore it. All that means is I'm fooling with the html. :) For now there isn't really anything to see - just Bear in women's clothing. Why Bear, why? Thanks, DeBray Current Mood: working |

Fart-chan Mark II Tubgirl staggered and finally collapsed. "You...you have defeated me," she gasped. "No," Fart-chan replied. "It was you who defeated yourself." |
